Spotify Family Plan Canceled Without Notice and Refund Denied
I’ve been using the Spotify Family Plan for over two years, paying regularly with my Turkish bank card. Although I’ve been abroad recently, the account is in my name, and my family in Turkey continues to use the service. I gift them the plan by paying for it myself.
Yesterday, everything was working fine, but today, without any warning or notification, my account was canceled. If I had been informed, I would have addressed the issue. Assuming it was a mistake, I renewed the subscription and re-added my family members. However, when I contacted customer service, they dismissed my concerns, saying it was canceled because I’m abroad and that they had sent an email—which I never received. I checked every folder, including spam and trash.
Moreover, my last payment, made on September 23, was valid until October 23, yet I lost access on October 11 and received no refund for the unused period. While renewing, there was no warning about the issue. Now I risk being charged again only to have the plan canceled without a refund.
I’m not trying to deceive anyone. I’ve paid from my location in Canada on behalf of my family in Turkey. This unprofessional behavior—canceling the plan without notice and refusing refunds—is unacceptable. Spotify must address this immediately.
