Skoda Elroq Suddenly Loses Power on Highway, Stranding Family for an Hour
Hello, we took delivery of our Skoda Elroq on May 22, 2026. The next day, as we were heading back to our city, a sudden explosion-like sound came from the vehicle on the highway between Düzce and Bolu, and multiple warning lights immediately came on. The vehicle instantly lost power and stopped, which frightened us badly on the highway and seriously endangered our lives. There was construction going on along the highway, and if there hadn't been a spot to pull over on the right, and if a vehicle had been driving close behind us, we could very well have been in a major accident.
The vehicle wouldn't go into gear. Following our conversation with roadside assistance and a technician, we were told to reset the vehicle and get out of the car. We didn't get back in the vehicle for about an hour, stranded on the highway, and during this time we were harassed by tow-truck operators passing by on the road. This situation wore us down psychologically and left us stranded for at least an hour. Afterward, the warning lights went away, the vehicle corrected itself, and we set off again.
Because I was running late to an event I had to attend, due to this lost time, I received a $257 speed camera fine. To resolve all these grievances, I shared my request for financial compensation with a customer service representative and asked them to open a complaint record. You can review the call recordings from that day. However, we're witnessing an established company like Skoda show this level of disregard for a customer; since two weeks have passed with no response whatsoever to my request, I'm filing this complaint.
I regret buying this vehicle and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I am requesting that my grievance be resolved and that the necessary financial and emotional compensation be provided.
