GTA 6 Does Not Include Turkish Subtitles or UI Support
We are deeply disappointed to have found that Turkish players appear to have been explicitly and deliberately overlooked in the official content and store listings released for Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6), developed by Rockstar Games and its parent company Take-Two Interactive and widely regarded as one of the biggest-budget and most anticipated games of this generation.
On August 28, 2026, I noticed that neither the official 26-minute gameplay video released on Netflix, known as the “Extended Look,” nor the language lists on the pre-order pages simultaneously made available through the Xbox Store and PlayStation Store included Turkish subtitles or Turkish interface (UI) support.
As a legal consumer and individual player, I am raising this issue not only on my own behalf, but also as a collective complaint, widespread disappointment, and clear commercial request on behalf of millions of Rockstar Games fans in Türkiye, longtime GTA players, and the Turkish gaming community. Türkiye's gaming market is currently one of the three fastest-growing and highest-consuming markets for gaming hardware and software in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) region. Given the long-standing loyalty of Turkish players who have legally purchased titles such as Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2 for more than a decade, often paying substantial amounts, and who have made a significant contribution to your global revenue, the continued lack of official support for their native language is an unacceptable omission.
While the official language lists include the regional languages of many European and Asian countries with much smaller gaming populations and significantly smaller market shares than Türkiye, Turkish is excluded despite having millions of active players. This is completely inconsistent with principles of fair treatment and inclusivity. Releasing a game as complex and narrative-driven as Grand Theft Auto VI without native-language support would prevent us, as legitimate consumers, from fully experiencing the product and would create a significant accessibility barrier. We are not asking for an expensive voice-acting or dubbing project; we are simply requesting official Turkish subtitle localization.
The Turkish gaming community has shown an exceptionally high level of support and loyalty to the brand throughout the years of waiting for this game. However, if this exclusionary approach continues, it is clear that it could seriously damage the community's willingness to make legitimate purchases, with players potentially responding through organized protest and boycott efforts.
Therefore, our clear and collective request on behalf of millions of players in Türkiye is that an official launch patch be released before the game's launch or, at the latest, on launch day, adding “Official Turkish Subtitle and Interface (UI) Support” to Grand Theft Auto VI. This step would demonstrate tangible recognition of the Turkish gaming community and help preserve both the commercial and emotional relationship between your brand and its loyal fan base in Türkiye.
We urgently request that our demand be reviewed by your global localization and community management teams, that this regional disparity be addressed without delay, and that we receive a clear, direct, and positive response regarding Turkish language support.
