Qatar Airways Flight Cancellation Caused Major Disruptions and Losses – Seeking Compensation
Qatar Airways canceled my flight, causing significant inconvenience and financial loss. On 29.07.2024, I was scheduled to depart from Sabiha Gökçen Airport at 07:25, with an 11:35 arrival in Doha, followed by a 20:20 connection to Adelaide. From Adelaide, I had a Jet Star flight booked to Sydney, where I also paid for three nights of accommodation.
Qatar Airways canceled the flight, rescheduling it from 7 AM to 8 PM, leading to a 13-hour wait. Despite informing Qatar Airways about my additional Jet Star flight and prepaid accommodation in Sydney, my other reservations and Sydney flight were lost. I was told they would try to arrange a direct flight to Sydney, but after waiting 13 hours, they informed me it was too expensive and would only proceed if I paid the fare difference. Instead, they arranged a flight to Melbourne with an additional 6-hour wait before continuing to Adelaide.
This situation has caused excessive delays and financial losses, and I am seeking compensation for both material and emotional damages. I expect Qatar Airways to address this matter urgently and provide a fair resolution for the inconvenience caused. Thank you.
