Peugeot Charged Me for Dismantling After Engine Failure Despite Full Service

December 13, 2024 4:21 PM176

Hello, my vehicle, a Peugeot 3008 that entered traffic in November 2021, has had all its maintenance done at the authorized service until now. On 26.11.2024, while stopped at a red light, the car failed to accelerate when the light turned green. I immediately contacted the authorized service, and they advised me to have the vehicle towed to their service center, which I did. Upon arrival, they claimed the engine oil level was too high and suggested the entire engine might need replacement, estimating the maximum cost at ₺600,000. They urged me to call back urgently and ended the call abruptly, which I initially thought was a prank. When I visited the service the next day, they advised me to check with the authorized service that performed the last maintenance on 16.08.2024. They also contacted them directly. They warned that if I chose not to proceed with the repairs, I would still be charged a ₺46,800 dismantling fee. I escalated the issue to the general management, where ongoing discussions about a potential manufacturing defect have caused repeated delays. After four postponements, they promised a final report on 10.12.2024. Despite calling them that day, I received no definitive answer regarding the manufacturing defect. My vehicle has been sitting idle for 18 days now. Please acknowledge this issue; you are a reputable company. I’ve always relied on authorized services for every maintenance, including engine washing, yet I am left in a difficult situation. I had to raise this concern publicly and will continue to pursue my legal rights while awaiting a resolution.
