Peugeot 2008 Allure Repeated Engine Faults And Service Failures Despite Warranty
I purchased a 2024 model Peugeot 2008 Allure 1.2 PureTech automatic vehicle with a disability report. While the vehicle had only 6,000 km on it, it suddenly broke down due to a camshaft fault and became unusable, so it was taken by tow truck to the authorized service. After staying in the service for about 15 days, I was told that the fault had been fixed and the vehicle was delivered to me. When the vehicle reached 18,300 km, this time it started to run with noticeable vibration, and it was clearly shaking while driving. I parked the vehicle and, about 7 hours later, when I tried to start it again to take my father, who is a stage 4 cancer patient, to the hospital, the vibration increased even more while I was waiting for the engine to warm up and a motor fault warning appeared. Although the engine was not yet warmed up, I immediately stopped the vehicle, but despite this, the cooling fan switched on. I again had to call a tow truck and the vehicle was taken to the service. The vehicle stayed at the service for 4 days. When I went to collect it and checked the work done, I learned that only the spark plugs and coils were swapped and the fault codes were simply cleared. Following this, I called the Stellantis customer center and filed a complaint. I questioned how a one-year-old vehicle could be transported to service by tow truck every 7–8 months and why a new vehicle required spark plug and coil changes. I was told that I would be called back within two days, but when no one contacted me, I called again. In the follow-up call, they only stated that the fault had been resolved and that there was therefore no problem. I bought this vehicle as a disability vehicle, and due to my father’s serious health condition, I need to be able to trust it at all times. During the 4 days the vehicle was in service, I had to use a taxi to take my father to the hospital twice and paid approximately ₺7,000 in taxi fares. In addition, I cannot sell this vehicle for 5 years, and I am worried that after the warranty expires, the same issues will recur and I will face serious repair costs. In light of all these experiences, I request that the warranty period of my vehicle be extended in writing, that my taxi expenses incurred due to the repeated breakdowns be reimbursed, and that a permanent and proper repair be carried out so that I can use the vehicle safely with my seriously ill father.
