I purchased a 2022 Peugeot 3008 in January 2023. After driving only 11,000 km, the paint on the roof, mudguards, and trunk lid started to peel.
I took the car to an authorized Peugeot service center and they reported the issue to the head office. The head office determined that there was a very low value loss for the paint peeling on the roof, but no value loss for the mudguards and trunk lid.
I believe this is a manufacturing defect. The car is designed to be used outdoors, and the paint should not peel without any dents or scratches.
The value loss determined by Peugeot is not even half of what I would lose if I tried to sell the car with a painted roof. Who would want to buy a car with a painted roof?
I will be pursuing all legal options to resolve this issue.
