PDFAid Charged IDR 700,000 After Trial — Request Full Refund

4

I registered with PDFAid on 6 October 2026, believing I was trying the service for free, and I used it only once on a single day just to merge PDF files. On 13 October 2026, I noticed that my credit card had been charged IDR 700,000 for a recurring subscription of every 28 days. On the same day, 13 October, I contacted PDFAid customer service by chat and email to request cancellation of the subscription and a full refund, since I had used the service only once and the request was seven days after registration. PDFAid cancelled my subscription and informed me that a refund of IDR 350,000, corresponding to 50% of the last charge, would be processed. However, my request for a refund of the remaining IDR 350,000 was rejected. The customer service agent stated that a 50% refund was the maximum possible and that this decision was final. I referred to Section 4.7 of PDFAid’s terms, which states that full or partial refunds can be given for requests made within seven days of registration. While I understand that this clause does not automatically guarantee a full refund, it also does not define or mention a fixed 50% maximum or any clear criteria for limiting the refund in my case. Despite my repeated requests, PDFAid has not identified any specific contractual provision or objective criteria that justify limiting my refund to 50%, even though I requested it on the same day I was charged and after only one brief use of the service. I find it unfair that a vague reference to “maximum 50% refund” is used without pointing to a concrete term in the agreement or explaining how this percentage was determined. I kindly ask PDFAid to provide a clear, written explanation of the rule or contractual clause that restricts my refund to 50%, and to reconsider its decision by refunding the remaining IDR 350,000 so that the total refund equals 100% of the IDR 700,000 charged. I request that PDFAid take into account that my request was made on the same day as the charge, seven days after registration, and after a single, minimal use of the service.
