Unauthorized Charge From Pdfguru
In May 2026, I noticed a charge of $51 taken from my Scotiabank account by Pdfguru, even though I have never created an account with them or knowingly subscribed to any service. I only briefly visited their website, did not stay on it for more than a couple of minutes, and I never entered my card details or authorized any payment. When I saw the charge on my bank statement, I immediately contacted Pdfguru to dispute this unauthorized transaction. However, I only received automated, repetitive responses stating that I had signed up on their website and, therefore, was not eligible for a refund, which I find completely unacceptable and indicative of misleading or fraudulent practices. During this contact, a ticket number. I also contacted Scotiabank, and they directed me to dispute the charge with Pdfguru, which I have already done, but without any real assistance or investigation from Pdfguru’s side. I consider this $51 transaction to be unauthorized and illegitimate, and I am extremely frustrated that my card appears to have been charged simply because I visited their website. I request that this $51 be fully refunded to my account and that any existing or future subscription or account supposedly opened in my name be immediately cancelled. I also expect a clear explanation of how my card was charged without me entering my card details or giving explicit consent, and I want assurance that such practices will not be repeated for other users or me.

Last May when I did this report, a agent which seems to be an AI assistant than a real person, told me that my subscription was cancelled and no further charges would be made. It is note to mention that I had visit my account to remove the subscription, but that option was not there. The site had a message that read that I must contact the a agent via email to cancel. So this "agent" on may said the subs was cancelled. A week ago as I was browsing my online bank account transactions, there I saw a charge of $59 from pdfguru, and I also found an additional $50 charged in June. I was angry. I look for my prior email with pdfguru but so how it vanish and I never clean or wipe out messages from my email. It was clear, as I saw it in may, this company was a scam. I did sent an email, and the exact same "agent" answer with the exact same responses with no sense of concern for my prior conversation with him, and show empathy. Just like the charge in may, I was not able to get a refund. As pdfguru said it transactions on the website are non refundable. Seriously, where else are transactions to take place? I'm fed up with this. Something needs to be done with this company. They are bad people who steal from poor people. Pdfguru LEAVE my credit card alone NOW. This company needs to be invested for this evil practice.
