Opel Grandland Hybrid Fuel Pump Failure and Delayed Replacement Vehicle Request
I purchased my Opel Grandland 1.2 Hybrid vehicle as brand new in November 2025. On the morning of 14.10.2026, on my way to work, the vehicle gave a motor failure warning and did not start. With Opel road assistance, my car was towed to İzmit Çetaş Opel authorized service. I was only able to learn what the fault was on Saturday, 17.10.2026. I was told that the float had malfunctioned, that it was not pumping fuel, that the spare part would come from abroad, that therefore the repair time was uncertain, and that it was estimated to take about 2 months. On 19.10.2026, I personally went to the service to get information again, but I received the same vague and unclear explanations. I had submitted my replacement vehicle request even before going to the service. I called Opel Turkey General Directorate many times, conveyed my complaint, and on 16.10.2026 a file numbered 1545498 was opened for my replacement vehicle request. Six days have passed and although today is 22.10.2026, my phone traffic between the general directorate and the service is still ongoing. Today at 16:30 I was called by the service and was only told that I was put in line for a replacement vehicle, but I was not given any clear information about when it would be provided. As a result, I have been without my vehicle for 9 days, there is no clarity as to when a replacement car will be given, and I am only receiving evasive and noncommittal answers. Moreover, it is already very difficult to accept that the float of a vehicle that was purchased as brand new only 9 months ago has failed, and my victimization is further increased by the failure to provide a replacement car. On Opel’s own website and in the warranty information, it is clearly stated that for vehicles under manufacturer’s warranty or extended warranty, a free replacement vehicle may be requested for faults whose repair is expected to exceed 24 hours. Despite this, both İzmit Çetaş Opel service and Opel Turkey General Directorate fail to adopt a clear and solution‑oriented approach, even though I am entitled to this right. I request that the fault in my vehicle be resolved as soon as possible, that a replacement vehicle be immediately allocated during the repair period in line with Opel’s own commitments, and that the necessary remedial actions be taken for the grievance I have experienced.
