I went to the emergency department at OFM Hospital because I had a high fever and chills and could not sleep all night. The doctor said, “Let’s start an IV right away.” I explained that I am a teacher and that I was not in a condition to go to school—the IV was suggested by the doctor himself. However, he refused to write even a one-day medical report. On top of that, he said, “If the issue is a report, go to another hospital.” I have been a teacher for 17 years, and in all those years I have not taken more than 20 days of medical leave in total. He did not believe that I was sick and sent me away with a rude attitude. What does “if the issue is a report” even mean? I consider that statement an insult. I told him, “I haven’t slept all night—how am I supposed to teach?” and he replied, “You should have taken medicine and slept.”
