Nivea Refreshing Cleansing Foam Caused Severe Skin Burning
On June 11, I purchased NIVEA Refreshing Facial Cleansing Foam from a Gratis store. The product packaging does not contain any consumer safety warnings such as "may cause allergic reactions," "may cause skin irritation," or any other precautions regarding potential adverse effects during use. Despite the lack of such warnings, I experienced a serious reaction the very first time I used the product on June 12, 2026.
I have never had an allergic reaction to cosmetics or personal care products, and I have generally resilient, non-sensitive skin. I have never experienced anything similar with any skincare product I have used in the past. However, immediately after applying this cleanser, my face developed an unbearable burning sensation accompanied by intense itching. The product was newly opened, and I followed all usage instructions exactly as directed. Even though I rinsed my face thoroughly with plenty of water right away, the irritation, burning, and discomfort continued for a long time and have still not completely resolved.
During the recovery process, I had to apply cold compresses and use soothing skincare products at home to relieve the symptoms. The fact that this cleanser caused such an aggressive and immediate reaction on skin that is normally not sensitive makes me question whether there is a problem with the product's formulation, storage conditions, or manufacturing batch. The lot number on my product is 508576**, and I could not find any expiration date printed on the packaging.
As a consumer, I am extremely concerned that a product with no warning labels caused this level of skin irritation. I request that NIVEA urgently investigate this product line, conduct the necessary quality and safety testing, address the harm I experienced, and provide me with a clear written explanation regarding the findings. If this matter is not resolved appropriately, I intend to pursue all legal remedies available to me.
