Netflix Subscription Cancellation and Payment Disputes
On July 7, 2024, I attempted to subscribe to Netflix using my virtual card but encountered errors twice. Checking my card's transactions, I found one payment was processed. I contacted Netflix, who claimed they did not receive payment. My bank confirmed the payment was successful and provided a transaction code. Upon informing Netflix again, they insisted no payment was received. I lodged a complaint with my bank for a refund of the provisional amount. After reloading my virtual card, I successfully subscribed, starting on July 7 and noticing cancellation on July 9. Netflix blamed the bank for the issue. They stated they could not cancel my subscription and the process regarding the provisional amount was ongoing. I demanded Netflix to explain why they canceled without my consent and requested a written response by 5:00 PM, which I did not receive. That evening, I resubscribed by paying again and currently use it. On the morning of July 10, I asked Netflix why they did not send the email. They recounted the entire process and stated they terminated my subscription unilaterally because they did not consider my virtual card secure. I demanded written confirmation that their platform accepts virtual cards, receives payments, and cannot cite such a reason. They suggested I define another card number, retain balance every month, etc., and said they could cancel the previously canceled subscription if I requested, and return the resubscription.
