Netflix Continued Charging Me After I Tried to Cancel My Membership
Since July, I repeatedly tried to cancel my Netflix subscription by clicking the “Cancel Membership” button in my account settings. Every time, I believed I had successfully completed the cancellation process, yet the membership was never actually terminated and money continued to be charged from my card on a regular basis. As a result, approximately $51 was withdrawn from my account without my clear knowledge or approval.
When I finally spoke with customer service, I was informed that there was apparently another step hidden below the “Cancel Membership” button that also needed to be completed, and that many users are unaware of this detail and fail to notice it. I honestly consider this cancellation structure misleading and unfair because the process is not presented in a clear or transparent way for users trying to end their subscriptions.
Because of this confusing and misleading cancellation process, I request a full refund of all charges withdrawn from my card during this period. In the end, I had to call customer service directly just to close my account completely. I also request that the inconvenience and financial loss I experienced be properly addressed and that Netflix redesign the cancellation process to make it simple, obvious, and transparent for all users.
