My Meta Pay card won’t add to Messenger, how can I enable it to send money?

If your Meta Pay card won’t add in Messenger, it’s usually because Meta Pay (formerly Facebook Pay) has strict requirements and only certain cards or accounts can be used — and sending money in Messenger often only works with a valid bank-issued debit card or PayPal (credit cards and some prepaid cards aren’t supported for peer-to-peer payments).

To fix it, go into Messenger → Settings → Payments/Meta Pay and try removing and re-adding your card with the exact billing address and details; this “refreshes” the connection.
