I am writing to report a critical safety issue involving an LG washing machine under warranty (Model: F4V5RGPOW.ABWPLTK, SN: 111PWNFLK567), and the concerning response from LG Turkey that followed. On May 17, 2025, during regular use, the machine suffered an electrical malfunction that caused a fire. Fortunately, we managed to contain it before it spread, but the risk to life and property was severe. A fire report from the local fire department confirms the incident originated from the power socket where the machine was plugged in. The plug was completely burned, and photos clearly show this damage. Despite the seriousness of the situation, LG Turkey’s response has been inadequate. On May 19, we reported the issue and were told—without any on-site inspection—that it was “user error,” based only on photos. We were informed that any service would be chargeable. This premature conclusion, made without a technical review, is unacceptable and unprofessional. It then took several days to schedule a service appointment, and to date, we have been unable to speak with any responsible LG representative. The burned plug remains in our home, emitting a smell of smoke, and the machine may have suffered water damage during the extinguishing process, making it unsafe even if repaired. We urgently request: 1. Escalation of this matter to LG Global leadership. 2. A formal, independent technical inspection by LG Global—not LG Turkey. 3. Full replacement of the unit due to loss of safety and trust. 4. A formal apology and assurance of commitment to customer safety and responsible handling of such cases. LG is known for innovation and reliability, but LG Turkey’s handling contradicts this image. We are loyal LG customers, but this experience has shaken our confidence.
