Hint Has Charged Me Without My Knowledge

I am writing regarding an unauthorized payment taken via PayPal from my account in connection with the merchant “Hint”. On August 28, a charge for $44.99 USD was taken through my PayPal account, which is linked to my debit card, without my knowledge or consent. I only made a single one‑time purchase of $2 with Hint previously and did not agree to any subscription, recurring payment or additional charge of $44.99. This $44.99 transaction appeared in my PayPal activity even though I never authorized it. When I contacted PayPal, I was told that I cannot report the problem until the transaction is fully completed on the 4th, and that I would have to wait before they can do anything. In the meantime, the unauthorized amount has already been taken from my account. I request that this $44.99 payment be fully refunded and that any current or future recurring or automatic charges from Hint via PayPal be cancelled immediately. I also ask that my account be protected from any further unauthorized transactions and that this issue be investigated so that it does not happen again.
