Garanti BBVA Didn't Deduct My Education Payment Refund and Is Charging Interest
We made an educational payment with my spouse's Garanti Bank credit card, taking advantage of the campaign offering 6 installments at the cash price. We also saw in the app that we benefited from the campaign. However, 2-3 days later, the statement arrived, and the entire balance was shown as a single payment. We called the bank, but they said they couldn't fix it. Since we couldn't pay this amount, we asked the educational institution to refund it, as we planned to pay with a different card. The institution made the refund, but the bank did not deduct this refund from the debt and is still asking us to pay that amount, even charging interest. I have never seen such a situation with refunds at any other bank I’ve worked with. Moreover, the bank is making threatening statements about damaging our credit record if the debt is not paid. We have terminated our relationship with the bank and will no longer use any of its products. They made no effort to provide a solution; you cannot defend an illegal transaction by simply saying, "That's how the system works."
