Garanti Bank Misled Me and Turned My 25k Advance Account Debt Into 57k
Garanti Bank’s credit line customer service repeatedly contacted me, claiming to offer special deals to help pay my existing Advance Account debt by splitting it into installments. My debt was first split once, then I was offered to split the remaining ₺25,000 into 6 installments with a ₺30,000 repayment, which I accepted. However, my statement showed it was split into 3 installments instead, with previous ones still active. When I checked, I found the plan had been created three times, my principal debt remained, and I was charged repeatedly. I was promised all debts would be consolidated, but now I am paying 3 different installments monthly, and my ₺25,000 debt has grown to ₺57,000 despite paying at least ₺10,000 monthly. The bank keeps calling, threatening legal action, while customer service tells me there is no issue and suggests I sue. At the branch, a representative admitted I was misled but offered no solution. I demand Garanti Bank acknowledge and correct this error immediately, as I refuse to pay three loans at once. This issue has persisted since August 1, and I will escalate it to the Consumer Arbitration Committee if unresolved. Account No: 661877.
