Garanti BBVA Caused Me Loss by Letting Others Use My Virtual Cards
I became a victim due to a security vulnerability at Garanti Bank, and unfortunately, many others are in the same situation. Without my knowledge, someone accessed my mobile banking account, created two virtual cards, increased my credit limit, and made two separate transactions of ₺4,980 each at a certain company. It was only after a third attempt that the bank noticed the transactions weren’t mine and finally blocked my account—thankfully, or the spending would have continued. Now, we're being victimized through this method, while Garanti Bank claims that since a password was used, the transaction is valid. Instead of strengthening their security measures, they choose the easy way out. I filed an objection, which was rejected. I now plan to pursue my rights through the Consumer Arbitration Committee.
