FlixBus Sold Tickets Without Seat Numbers and Charged Extra for Seats
On July 26 at 10:00 PM, I purchased a FlixBus ticket for the Belgrade–Sarajevo route. I was already surprised that my ticket did not include a seat number, but when we boarded the bus, I realized just how unacceptable this situation was. The staff told passengers without assigned seats to sit in the very back of the upper deck, while anyone who wanted to sit in an available seat downstairs had to pay an additional €5 per person.
When we went upstairs, it was like a sauna. The bus was completely overcrowded, there was barely any air, and it was unbearably hot. The air conditioning was supposedly running and making noise, but there was absolutely no cooling inside the bus. Traveling under these conditions, especially for passengers spending a long time in an enclosed space, was clearly unhealthy and created an unacceptable risk to our well-being. Being forced to endure such a poor, uncomfortable, and unhealthy journey after purchasing a ticket from a company we considered large and reputable is completely unacceptable.
The ventilation problem is still continuing on the bus, and we are being forced to continue the journey under these conditions. I want FlixBus’s practice of selling tickets without assigned seats, then charging extra for seats downstairs, and directing passengers to an airless, excessively hot upper deck to be brought to public attention. I demand that the company provide an explanation, urgently investigate this trip, and take the necessary steps to ensure that passengers are never treated this way again.
