FileWorld Charged Me After Cancellation and Refused My Refund Request
I used FileWorld on or about 07/09/2026 to convert my son’s football highlight video from one file type to MP4. For this, I agreed to and paid a one‑time fee of €0.60 (about $0.60) using my debit card, believing it was a single‑use file transfer service and not an ongoing subscription. Immediately after using the service, I canceled the subscription because I have no further need for FileWorld and did not intend to sign up for any monthly plan. Despite this, today I was alerted by my bank that my account was charged $39.95 under invoice number 1211872. I did not knowingly authorise this additional $39.95 transaction, and I was not clearly informed that a monthly subscription would start after 48 hours. When I emailed FileWorld, I received a response stating that I had registered for a 48‑hour trial at €0.60 and that, according to their terms of service, a monthly subscription of €39.95 is automatically activated after this period if not canceled. I repeat that I used the service once and canceled right after use, and I did not intend to subscribe or be billed further. In light of this, I request a full refund of the $39.95 (equivalent to €39.95) that was charged to my account and confirmation that my subscription has been fully canceled so that no further charges will be made.
Fileworld finally agreed to refund me the entire $39.95. Complaint resolved!
