If Cursor’s auto-edit tools aren’t working properly in your projects;
Check version and restart;
• Update Cursor to the latest version
• Restart the app completely
• Reopen your project
Verify auto-edit settings;
• Go to Settings → Auto Edit / AI Tools
• Confirm features are enabled
• Make sure the correct language mode is selected
• Screenshot your settings
Check file compatibility;
• Ensure the file type is supported
• Fix any syntax errors first
• Save the file before running auto-edit
Disable conflicts;
• Turn off other editor extensions temporarily
• Disable VPN if connection-based features fail
• Ensure stable internet connection
Clear cache/session;
• Log out → Log back in
• Reload the project
• Try in a fresh workspace
Test with a small sample file;
• Create a simple test file
• Run auto-edit there
• If it works, the issue may be project-specific
Contact Cursor Support;
• Provide:
– Account email
– Cursor version
– OS + editor version
– Screenshot of the issue
• Ask if it’s a known bug or configuration issue
If support does not reply, you might want to consider posting a complaint on Xolvie in order to bring attention to the issue and try to find a solution.
