Burger King Employee Allegedly Fired for Saying “Free Palestine”

23

I recently became aware, through news shared online, that a Burger King employee was allegedly fired for saying “Free Palestine.” I am extremely disappointed and upset by this, both as a customer and as someone who cares about basic freedom of expression. I learned about this incident today and, because of it, I have decided that I and my family will no longer visit Burger King, even though it has been my favorite fast food restaurant for a long time. For us, this is not only about one person losing their job, but also about the message it sends regarding respect for opinions and the spirit of the First Amendment in the United States. I expect Burger King to reinstate this employee and issue a clear public apology, both to the person who was fired and to customers who are disturbed by the idea that someone could lose their job simply for saying “Free Palestine”. I am sharing this complaint so that Burger King management is made aware of how serious and hurtful this feels to loyal customers like me and my family.
