I Regret Buying the Arçelik 10120 MKS Washing Machine

On July 22, 2025, we purchased a washing machine (model: 10120 MKS 10 kg 1200D Silver) from an Arçelik dealer. The machine was installed on July 23. We ran it the same day after installation, but we noticed that it didn’t spin the clothes. We called the dealer and explained the issue. They created a service request and scheduled an appointment for Thursday, July 24, between 6:00–8:00 PM. We even received a confirmation message. However, the service team never showed up. At 8:45 PM, I called Arçelik Customer Service at 0850 210 0888, but they told me there was no record of a service request.

The next day, July 25, we visited the dealer again and explained the situation. They said they would send a technician that day. Mr. O*** from the Kuzey Adana Service arrived. We told him that despite trying multiple times, the machine wouldn’t spin. He explained that new washing machines have an unbalanced load algorithm and that if the machine detects an uneven load, it won’t spin. He said he saw an E-18 error during the test and that this was normal. He advised us to load the clothes by estimating visually and, if it doesn’t spin, to open the door, remove some clothes, and run the spin cycle again. He said there was nothing else he could do and left.

We returned to the dealer and told them what the technician had said. They responded by saying his explanation was nonsense. We said we wanted to return the machine, but they told us this process was handled by the service department and they couldn’t help. They also claimed they sell more than 40 washing machines a month and have never received a complaint like this. One of the employees said she uses the white version of the same model, fills it as much as she wants, and has never experienced such a problem.

In Adana’s extreme heat, large families need to do laundry daily. But in this weather, we can’t wash our clothes, and even if we do, we’re forced to wring them out by hand because the machine won’t spin. The dealer ignored our request for a return. Arçelik has severely let us down. If you’re considering buying an Arçelik washing machine, think twice.

"From the day my problem started, my interactions with Arçelik customer service have always been positive. First of all, I would like to thank them very much. Also, the authorized service at Soyak Emar in Istanbul is amazing. They solved my problem and gave approval—thousands of thanks to the authorized service there. However, the authorized service in Istanbul Ataşehir is quite inconsiderate, uninterested, and does not even take into account the directions from customer service. They responded to me by saying, 'There is no problem with your machine, we are not coming, just so you know,' and they do not care about the customer at all. It is an authorized service that does not add value to the Arçelik brand. Fortunately, my problem was solved with the Soyak Emar service. I would like to thank the Arçelik customer representatives for their patience and understanding in helping me get through this period calmly and for their close attention to my problem. If all your authorized services focus on solving problems rather than creating them like your Soyak Emar service, we would all be satisfied. Thank you, Soyak Emar Arçelik."
