Akbank Allowed Unauthorized Transactions on My Axess Gold Card Without Approval
Hello, on December 27, 2024, at 8:56 PM, an unauthorized transaction was made with my Akbank Axess Gold Card under Africorex Ltd for $1,000 (₺36,131). Two minutes later, at 8:58 PM, for electronic goods, another unauthorized transaction was made under the same name for $200 (₺7,226.20) without my knowledge or approval. I am filing a complaint against Akbank. While domestic transactions require an SMS verification, international transactions are processed without any approval, exposing a serious security flaw. Had an SMS approval been required, this issue could have been avoided even if my card details were stolen. I want my money back. The following actions were taken: 1) On December 30, I noticed the issue and immediately filed a dispute form with the bank, but I have yet to receive a response. The funds are still in the provisional stage. 2) I blocked my credit card and requested a new one. 3) Once I settle my debts with this bank, I will sever all ties and will not work with them again.
