I'm part of a large WhatsApp group where messages flood in constantly, causing non-stop buzzing. How can I silence these?

Here are the steps to turn off notifications for a big WhatsApp group so it doesn't buzz constantly:

• Launch the group chat where you wish to disable alerts.
• Select "Menu" or "3 dots" to access additional choices.
• Make sure to choose "Mute notifications."

After that, you'll be asked to select a time frame for when you don't want to receive notifications:

For the muted group to have their notifications turned back on:

• Launch the private group chat.
• Select "Menu" or "3 dots" to access additional choices.
• Find and click on "Unmute notifications."

If you mute a group on your phone, it will also be muted on WhatsApp Web and Desktop. Your computer's and phone's notification settings are separate and distinct from one another.
