Fake Amazon WhatsApp Job Scam Took My 150 Dirhams via Telegram

July 2 1:21 PM1

Today I was contacted through WhatsApp and Telegram about what was presented as a part‑time job opportunity supposedly related to Amazon. They added me to WhatsApp groups and Telegram channels and explained that by completing simple “tasks” I could earn money. First they asked me to add some items to the cart and, after doing that, they sent me 25 dirhams for free to make it look real and trustworthy. After this, they started giving other tasks where I had to pay money first and they promised I would get a higher amount back as cashback or reward. One of the instructions I received was to open Telegram and contact an account called “@Anbara889” with a message like “Hello/Hi” so that this so‑called receptionist could explain the task process and guide me to complete tasks to earn rewards. Following these directions, I sent 150 dirhams of my own money, but the payment is still shown as “on hold” and I did not receive any cashback or promised reward, so I cancelled the task from my side. I now strongly believe this is a scam using the Amazon name and logos to mislead people with fake part‑time jobs and “pay first, then get cashback” tasks via WhatsApp and Telegram groups. I want to clearly state that I was misled by people pretending to be connected with Amazon, and I request that this situation be investigated urgently, this fraudulent activity be stopped, and that my loss of 150 dirhams be compensated if possible. I also want to warn other users so that they do not trust such WhatsApp or Telegram groups or any person using similar messages and the Amazon name for these fake task and cashback schemes.
