My Brand-New Peugeot 5008 Hybrid Broke Down With Engine Failure in the First Week

On May 11, 2026, I purchased a brand-new Peugeot 5008 GT 1.2 Hybrid (VIN: VR3KAHPY4TS057731) from Öztek Motorlu Araçlar Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. Sancaktepe/Çekmeköy dealership, and the vehicle was officially delivered to me on May 12, 2026, as a zero-mile vehicle. However, before even one full week had passed, the car suddenly displayed the warning message “Engine Fault: Repair Needed” while I was driving and completely stopped on the road. I had four passengers inside the vehicle and was forced to get the car to the service center under extremely dangerous and stressful conditions.
I am experiencing severe hardship because a supposedly brand-new vehicle suffered such a major engine failure within its very first week. Even worse, the Öztek dealership completely abandoned us during this process and refused to provide a replacement vehicle. Not only was a proper vehicle in the same segment not provided, but no professional customer service approach or customer satisfaction effort was shown at all.
I have a sick mother at home who requires constant medical visits, a nephew who must be taken to school every day, and work obligations that I cannot ignore. Despite all of this, nobody from the dealership or Peugeot Turkey even bothered to call me once regarding this serious situation. Their indifference during the critical week before Eid al-Adha is completely unacceptable for a global automotive brand and its representatives.
Under Turkish Consumer Protection Law No. 6502, a vehicle that experiences such a serious defect immediately after delivery is legally considered a “defective product.” For this reason, I am directing my complaint jointly to Peugeot Turkey (Stellantis Automotive) and Öztek Motorlu Araçlar Çekmeköy dealership, because both the manufacturer/importer and the selling dealership are legally responsible for the damages and hardship caused by this defective new vehicle and the failure to provide a replacement car.
I urgently demand the following actions be taken immediately: First, I request that a replacement vehicle suitable for the same segment — specifically a large 7-seat SUV — be provided without delay to resolve the hardship I am currently facing. Second, I clearly state that I absolutely refuse repair of this heavily defective new vehicle and instead demand my legal right to a full replacement with a defect-free new vehicle.
I am also escalating this matter legally through a formal notarized notice. I strongly condemn the irresponsible attitude displayed by both Peugeot Turkey and Öztek Çekmeköy dealership, and I expect an immediate and concrete resolution.
