StarPets Buyer Exploited the One-Hour Reservation System
About one hour ago, I experienced a serious issue on the StarPets Adopt Me marketplace. A buyer purchased one of the pets I had listed for sale. Under the current system, the buyer has up to one hour to claim the pet after completing the purchase. However, this buyer intentionally waited the entire hour without claiming the pet. When the time expired, the buyer received a refund, while I lost an entire hour during which my listing was unavailable to other potential buyers.
What makes this even more frustrating is that the same buyer listed an identical pet for sale from their own account. Even though I had listed mine at a lower price, the buyer appeared to purchase my listing only to prevent it from selling. Instead of claiming the pet, they allowed the timer to expire, received a refund, and effectively blocked my sale. As a result, I lost both valuable selling time and the opportunity to earn coins, while the system allowed this behavior to continue without any consequences.
I believe the current one-hour reservation period is vulnerable to abuse and should be redesigned to better protect sellers. Buyers should either be required to claim purchased pets immediately or within a much shorter time limit. If they fail to do so, there should be safeguards to prevent repeated abuse of the reservation system. I respectfully ask StarPets to review this issue and implement changes that create a fairer marketplace for everyone.
