New Skoda Kodiaq Arrives With Wrong Spare Key From Another Vehicle
On June 20th, I purchased a brand-new Skoda Kodiaq from the Bornova Vosmer dealership. That same day, when I set out toward Karabük, where I live, I noticed a crackling sound coming from the right front passenger speaker, and that one of the keys I'd been given didn't work. When I called the Vosmer dealership, I was told that for the speaker, I would need to take the vehicle to the service center in Ankara, and that for the key, I should first try to activate it myself, and if I couldn't, they would help me at the service center.
On June 25th, I dropped off my vehicle at the And Skoda Ankara service center in the morning. When I dropped off the car, the staff member said there was no problem with the vehicle, that the crackling I was hearing could be heard in any car, and didn't want to accept the vehicle for service. When I mentioned that I'd driven cars before and had never experienced this kind of problem in any of my vehicles, they reluctantly took the vehicle in for service after I insisted. In the evening, I was told there had been an upholstery/trim issue that had now been fixed, and they tried to hand the vehicle back to me, but when I got in, I saw the same problem was still there. I invited the staff into the car and had them listen to the noise, and this time they said the vehicle would need to stay at the service center for one more day.
Even though my vehicle stayed at the service center until evening, neither any real intervention nor any meaningful inspection appears to have been done. My request for a loaner vehicle was also denied, and I was let down once again during this process. I also learned during this process that the non-working spare key didn't even belong to my vehicle — it belonged to a different vehicle. As someone who has bought and driven brand-new vehicles from different brands before, this is the first time I've encountered this level of carelessness, inexperience, and failure to stand behind the product.
Right now my vehicle is at the service center, and my speaker and key problems still haven't been resolved. I am requesting that my key and speaker problems be fully and permanently resolved, and if that isn't possible, that my vehicle be replaced with a new one.
