Sebamed SPF 50+ Sunscreen Failed to Prevent Sunburn
On June 26, 2026, I purchased Sebamed Sun Care SPF 50+ Sunscreen from an Eve store in Karaman. The store staff specifically recommended this product, describing it as highly effective and reliable, so my family and I felt confident using it. I have used Sebamed products in the past without any issues, so I trusted this sunscreen as well.
Before swimming at Narlıkuyu Beach in Mersin, we applied the sunscreen to our shoulders, backs, and arms about ten minutes before entering the water. Despite using the product as directed, all of us developed significant sunburns in the areas where the sunscreen had been applied after spending time in the sea. If I had purchased the product online, I might have suspected that it was counterfeit or expired. However, because it was purchased directly from a physical retail store, I did not expect to experience anything like this.
I request that Sebamed investigate this product, including the specific production lot or batch, to determine whether there is a quality or manufacturing issue. I also ask for a full refund of the purchase price and for appropriate action to be taken to help prevent other consumers from experiencing the same problem.
