Opodo Charged Me €99.99 for a Prime Subscription I Never Approved
Last year, while frequently purchasing airline tickets for my Erasmus travels, I bought a flight ticket through Opodo. However, I no longer remember the exact month or the country related to that purchase. This evening, while checking my bank transactions, I noticed that a charge of €99.99 had been withdrawn from my card under the name “Opodo Prime Annual” without my knowledge or approval. When purchasing the ticket, I did not save my card information, nor did I knowingly sign up for any membership or subscription agreement. Despite this, it appears that a subscription was somehow activated in my name.
This €99.99 charge is the first time I have ever seen such a transaction on my account statement. Because of this unauthorized charge made through my İş Bankası card, I immediately contacted my bank and filed a dispute request. I am currently waiting for the bank’s investigation process to be completed. I also canceled my card for security reasons. When I tried to contact Opodo’s help center, I was asked for a flight reference number, but since I no longer have access to last year’s booking details, I could not directly communicate with the company.
I never knowingly started an Opodo Prime subscription or approved any similar membership service. Since I did not benefit from any additional service and have only experienced financial frustration and inconvenience, I demand a full refund of the €99.99 withdrawn from my card and the immediate cancellation of all unauthorized subscriptions that appear to have been created in my name.
