I Bought the Huawei Pura 70 Pro but Even AppGallery Apps Like Google Maps Don’t Work
I recently purchased the Huawei Pura 70 Pro, fully aware that Google services wouldn’t be natively supported. I accepted that limitation. But what I didn’t expect—and what really frustrates me—is that even the apps available on Huawei’s own AppGallery don’t work properly.
For example, I downloaded Google Maps directly from the Huawei AppGallery. It opens, but that’s where the functionality ends. I can’t get directions, can’t access the app’s settings, and basically can’t use it for anything meaningful. It’s like having a shell of an app that only pretends to work.
I paid a significant amount of money for this phone, and I feel completely let down. Huawei, you’re not just restricting Google—you’re offering your users broken alternatives on your own platform.
This isn’t acceptable. If you want people to keep trusting your ecosystem, you need to ensure that the apps you promote on your own AppGallery actually function.
