Huawei Watch GT 5 Pro Compatibility Issues with iPhone

February 10, 2025 10:17 AM196

I recently purchased a Huawei Watch GT 5 Pro, but as an iPhone user (iPhone 14 Pro Max), I quickly realized that the watch is highly incompatible with iOS devices. Despite all the hype and marketing, this watch is severely limited when paired with an iPhone.

The first major issue is with Petal Maps. I downloaded the app on my iPhone, but it does not open at all. When I connect the watch to an Android device, Petal Maps installs and works, but as soon as I switch back to my iPhone, the app disappears from the watch completely!

Additionally, WhatsApp notifications on the watch are read-only—there is no option to reply. Features like emoji keyboards and quick replies are disabled simply because I am using an iPhone. This is extremely disappointing, especially for a premium smartwatch that should offer seamless functionality across all platforms.

I did not expect a high-end Huawei smartwatch to have such limited usability with iPhones. Huawei, why are you advertising this as a premium smartwatch if it lacks such basic functionality for iOS users? I demand a proper fix or clarification on these compatibility issues!
