Google Gemini Charged Me €89.90 Instead of the €14 Promotion I Expected

On 7 June, I subscribed to Google Gemini through Google’s website on desktop, based on a promotion advert that I understood to mean the cost for a 6‑month subscription would be €14. Only after completing the purchase did I see that I had actually been charged €89.90, which was completely unexpected and far higher than what I believed I was agreeing to. Within about 10 minutes of noticing the €89.90 charge, I immediately requested a cancellation and refund, explaining that I had clearly misunderstood the promotion and made a mistake. Despite this, I was told via the PayPal app that “clearly a refund in this case is not available.” I find this response very disappointing and feel misled by the way the promotion and pricing were presented, especially coming from a company such as Google. Given that I acted almost immediately after the charge, and that my decision was based on a misunderstanding of the promotional advert, I kindly request a full refund of €89.90 and confirmation that the Gemini subscription and any auto‑renewal have been fully cancelled. I expect Google to review this situation fairly and to ensure that the promotion and pricing information are made clearer so that other users are not put in the same position.
