Garanti BBVA Charged Me Extra for Gas Bill Despite Setting Up Payment Instructions

In September, a Garanti BBVA customer representative called me, offering a promotion where I would receive ₺500 bonus for setting up one bill payment instruction and ₺1000 bonus for two. I found the offer appealing, so I set up two bill payment instructions: one for Başkent Natural Gas and another for Kablo Net internet. When the payment date arrived, ₺186 was paid from my credit card for the gas bill. However, an additional ₺12 was charged as interest, even though I hadn’t missed the due date. When I called customer service to ask about the interest, the representative, in what felt like a joke, told me that since Garanti BBVA doesn’t have an agreement with Başkent Natural Gas, they charged interest. So, Garanti BBVA accepted my bill instructions but didn’t agree with the company. In the end, while my bill was ₺186, Garanti took ₺198 from me. Am I supposed to be foolish enough to pay more just because I set up an instruction with you? I’ve decided to cancel my bill instructions and close my credit card and account with Garanti BBVA. I will also share this experience on all social media platforms, advising everyone not to work with Garanti BBVA.
