Economy Bookings Car Refused Over Undisclosed Licence Requirement

I made a car hire booking with Economy Booking for 7 August at Bologna Airport and fully paid for the reservation in advance. When I arrived at the airport on the booking date to pick up the car, the rental company refused to give me the vehicle, stating that I needed an international driving licence. This requirement had not been clearly indicated to me at the time of booking, and I was therefore unable to use the service I had already paid for. Despite the fact that the car was not provided at all, Economy Booking has refused to refund my payment. Because I did not receive the service and the refusal was based on a condition that was not properly communicated to me in advance, I request a full refund of the amount I paid, as well as reasonable compensation for the inconvenience and disruption caused.
