Dental Clinic Charges $103 for a Three-Minute Consultation
On June 12, 2026, I visited Dental Clinic in 4. Levent to ask Dr. Işıl Kısakürek for some brief information about clear aligners. Since I am 46 years old, I simply wanted to ask whether getting clear aligners at my age would be a sensible option. When I entered the clinic, I specifically explained that I only wanted to ask a single question and that I was not requesting a formal examination. The doctor briefly looked at my teeth and had a very short question-and-answer conversation with me. The entire interaction lasted less than three minutes.
Despite this, I was asked to pay a $103 consultation fee when I was leaving, and I was genuinely shocked by this. If I had known in advance that I would be charged a fee, I would either not have asked the question at all or would have taken the opportunity to ask much more detailed questions. I was simply trying to be considerate and respectful of the doctor's time, so I asked my question quickly and left. Nevertheless, being charged such a significant amount afterward was extremely upsetting to me, both financially and personally. $103 is not a small amount, especially when it was charged for a conversation that lasted less than three minutes. I paid the fee at the time and received a receipt.
I expect the $103 fee charged for this brief, informational conversation to be refunded. I also believe patients should be clearly, openly, and transparently informed about any consultation fees before an examination or consultation takes place.
I kindly request that the inconvenience I experienced be addressed and that the $103 fee be refunded in full.
