I Mistook Chatly for ChatGPT Plus and Paid for a Year—Requesting Full Refund
I accidentally subscribed to the Chatly app, thinking it was ChatGPT Plus. The app’s interface is nearly identical, and it appears at the top of search engine results, which made it incredibly difficult to realize it’s a third-party app. As a result, I unknowingly committed to an annual subscription and paid a significant amount without understanding that this was not the official OpenAI service.
I only realized the mistake after using the app and noticing inconsistencies. By then, the payment had already been processed. I immediately submitted a refund request, but I have received no response to date.
This app uses deceptive design and misleading branding to confuse users—something that should not be allowed on platforms handling subscriptions and financial transactions.
I’m demanding a full refund and asking that authorities and app stores investigate Chatly for impersonating OpenAI’s ChatGPT product. Users deserve transparency, and this kind of manipulative setup damages trust and exploits consumers. Please take urgent action to prevent others from being misled the same way.
