I am writing to you from Turkey as a long-standing and loyal BOSCH customer. My name is Prof. Dr. Barış B***. I am a professor at the Faculty of Engineering at Gebze Technical University and also serve in an administrative capacity in the Sustainability Department of our university. My wife is a teacher at a state high school. We purchased our new BOSCH washing machine to replace our previous BOSCH model after many years of service. Unfortunately, shortly after commissioning the new appliance, visible discolorations appeared on the plastic components inside the machine. These stains have worsened over time, becoming ingrained in the material and impossible to remove or conceal. I have attached photographs showing the affected areas. During the warranty period, we contacted the authorized service center. We were merely advised to clean the stains using BOSCH-certified cleaning agents. Despite repeated cleaning attempts, the condition remained unchanged – in fact, the stains continued to spread and darken. Furthermore, a noticeable unpleasant odor has recently developed in the laundry after washing, which is highly concerning from a hygiene perspective. Due to my temporary research stay at the University of Manchester, I was initially unable to follow up on the case in person. Upon my return, I requested a technical inspection and a solution from the service center. Instead, I was offered only a ₺1,000 discount as a remedy. As a long-standing and loyal customer, I would like to ask the following questions: Did the measures proposed during the warranty period actually resolve the problem? Why was a replacement of the affected plastic components not offered, even though the issue was reported during the warranty period? How was the proposed discount amount of ₺1,000 calculated? Is it in line with your company’s ethical principles to charge for the resolution of a problem documented during the warranty period? Does this approach align with BOSCH’s customer orientation and sustainability principles? As someone who is professionally and personally committed to sustainable technology and the responsible use of technical products, I trust that you will handle this matter fairly and in the spirit of customer care.
