Unauthorized USD Charges by Blizzard on Ziraat Bank Credit Card Without 3D Secure
On March 4, 2026, at approximately 00:30, three unauthorized, unapproved international transactions were charged to my Ziraat Bank credit card by Blizzard Entertainment in US Dollars. The charges occurred consecutively for $78.41 USD, $108.86 USD, and $108.86 USD (totaling approximately 13,500 TRY). Delayed SMS transaction notifications were sent by the bank only hours later, at 08:27.
I do not hold an account with Blizzard Entertainment, nor have I ever registered, purchased from, or interacted with any online gaming platform. Furthermore, this credit card was newly issued approximately four months ago and was never authorized for these payments, nor was any 3D Secure verification code requested or provided.
Upon discovering the fraudulent activity, I immediately contacted Ziraat Bankasi customer service to report card compromise. The bank refused to cancel or freeze the pending unauthorized charges, offering only to reissue a new credit card. Under Bank Cards and Credit Cards Law No. 5464 (Banka Kartları ve Kredi Kartları Kanunu), financial institutions and merchants bear liability for failing to enforce security protocols against unauthorized card-not-present transactions.
I demand that Blizzard Entertainment and Ziraat Bankasi immediately investigate these fraudulent transactions, issue a complete refund of all three unauthorized charges ($296.13 USD total) back to my account, waive any fees associated with issuing a replacement card, and provide written confirmation that my stolen financial details have been purged from Blizzard's merchant systems.
