We are the legal owners of an Apple Watch Series 7 (Serial No: SX1F36JGYQ4), and we have the original invoice and all related documentation. However, our requests to remove the Activation Lock have been repeatedly denied by Apple for purely bureaucratic and unreasonable reasons. As a result, we have been unable to use the device for approximately three years.
We have the original purchase invoice from MediaMarkt, which clearly shows my aunt D**** M****’s name and company details. Despite this, Apple insists that we must submit the request using an old corporate email address belonging to my aunt, even though she no longer works at that company and no longer has access to that email account.
The official purchase invoice is the highest and most valid proof of ownership for a device. Requiring access to a former corporate email address that is no longer active as proof of ownership is illogical and unfair to the consumer.
In our previous case records (reference numbers 102703886743 and 102647694702), customer representatives assured us that the issue would be resolved. However, our requests were closed without any clear or reasonable explanation.
It is unacceptable that a global technology company like Apple continues to leave a device unusable for years due to a software lock, even after official proof of purchase has been provided.
We expect Apple Turkey to accept the official invoice we submitted as valid proof of ownership, to waive the requirement of using an inaccessible corporate email account, and to immediately remove the Activation Lock from the device. Otherwise, we will pursue our legal rights before the Consumer Arbitration Committee with all supporting documentation.
