Akbank Maltepe E-5 Branch Stops Serving Customers During Queue
On October 30, 2025, at 15:01, I received ticket number 447 at the Akbank Maltepe E-5 Branch in Istanbul. At that time, there were approximately 30–40 people ahead of me in the queue. Around 15:30, the branch stopped admitting customers and turned away at least 30–40 people waiting outside. Despite this, a group of about 15–20 people continued to wait in front of the branch until 17:00 without receiving any information or explanation. Most of the people waiting were young students who had come to receive their scholarship payments from the Maltepe Municipality. However, during this entire period, no one was served, and the last number called was 429. This situation caused both a loss of time and significant inconvenience. It is unacceptable for a bank, which provides an essential public service, to treat customers in this manner, especially when they have limited time to complete their necessary transactions.
