VakıfBank Reflected My World Card Installments Wrong and Caused Hardship
On 06/09/2025, I made a purchase of ₺85,500 at a company with my VakıfBank World credit card and split the payment into 3 installments. However, in the VakıfBank mobile app, I saw that my final installment, which should have been due in December 2025, was shown as payable in November 2025. This means I will have to pay two installments (₺57,000) in November, which exceeds my payment capacity and causes me financial hardship. Although my credit card statement date is set as the 5th of every month, both the statement date and the due date are constantly being shifted according to public holidays. I am a VakıfBank salary customer, and my credit card debt is automatically paid from my salary. A due date falling on a holiday should not mean that my debt cannot be collected automatically from my salary. If the bank wishes, it can withdraw my credit card debt automatically when my salary is deposited on the 15th of each month. I contacted customer service but received a negative response. While other banks keep the statement date fixed, I believe VakıfBank has changed this practice in a way that works against the customer. Moreover, during the 2024 Kurban Bayram holiday, in a similar situation, the bank kept the statement date fixed and postponed the due date to the next business day after the holiday due to customer reactions. This shows that flexibility can be provided in this practice. My expectation is that my installments be reflected correctly, that the statement and due dates be fixed, and that my grievance be resolved. The last 4 digits of my credit card are 7207.
