• Mold has probably grown on your Play-Doh, which is why it smells funny and has white spots on it. It's no longer safe to use.
• Make sure you throw it away in a garbage bag with a lid so that any mold spores stay inside. If you want to use the container again, wash it well with warm soapy water and let it dry completely before putting new Play-Doh in it.
• Play-Doh should be kept in a cool, dry place, containers should be tightly sealed after use, and it shouldn't be kept in damp places like basements or attics. Before putting Play-Doh back in its container, it should be clean and dry.
