Notion templates don't fit my workflow, how can I customize them?

Start by duplicating the template instead of editing the original so you can safely adapt it to your workflow.

Add or remove database properties, modify page layouts, create custom views with the filters and sorts you need, and update buttons or automations to match your processes.

If you use the template repeatedly, save your changes as a database template so every new page follows your preferred structure automatically.

Review the template after using it for a while, removing unused sections and adding fields that support your current workflow, rather than trying to fit your work to the original design.
