Nintendo Switch is a portable console, and heavy use really does drain the battery quickly.
The main reasons for fast discharge include: high screen brightness, Wi-Fi being on, demanding games (for example, Zelda: Breath of the Wild), and battery wear.
What you can do to extend battery life:
Lower the screen brightness or turn on auto-brightness.
Enable Airplane Mode if you don’t need internet.
Close background apps and menus.
Use a dock or a portable power bank (with PD 18–30W support).
Avoid full discharge — keep the charge between 20–80%.
If your console is an older model (before 2019), consider upgrading to the version with the improved battery (Switch HAC-001(-01)) or the Switch OLED, which offers longer battery life.
