Given the expensive monthly fee, Grindr has been a big disappointment. Although the software says it can efficiently link people, the real pool of legitimate profiles is quite small. Finding someone fit is almost tough even with exact search parameters. Essential for meaningful connections, basic elements like location filters are totally lacking. Worse still, there is no mechanism to stop users, hence you run the risk of being harassed. Ignoring messages from someone could cause them to report you out of spite; moderators may even ban your profile without enough inquiry. The community is generally poisonous, and the moderators hardly help to change the situation. Grindr seems more like a money and time waster than a dependable tool.
