The first thing you should do is to make sure that the software on your machine is up-to-date, since old software can cause problems with how things work together. Keeping your system up to date can often fix problems with how it works.
Next, check for updates to Fortnite. Crashing can happen when the game version is too old. Check the PlayStation Store to make sure you have the most recent version of Fortnite loaded, and if you don't, update it.
If the crashes keep happening, clear Fortnite's files. Find Fortnite and delete its saved data by going to Settings > Saved Data > System Storage. It won't change your progress, but it might fix speed problems. For a more permanent fix, you might want to rebuild your PS5's database by following the steps in safe mode.
